What is the phosphate cycle

Phosphate are necessary for the growth and maintenance of animal bones and teeth.

While oregano phosphates are essential for cell division involving the production of nuclear DNA and RNA.

Phosphate minerals are located in rocks and soil. whereas phosphates exist in soluble and insoluble forms.

Terrestrial plants absorb inorganic phosphate salts. And it convert them into organic phosphate. Animals obtain their phosphate by eating plants.

Plants and animals after their death and decay return the phosphates to the soil. Those finally converted to humus by the action of micro organisms.

Bulk of the phosphate in the soil is fixed or absorbed on the soil particles.

Oxygen Cycle: Oxygen is a major component of all living organisms. Its adequate supply is vital for sustenance of life in the biosphere.

Most plants and animals need oxygen and human beings also. Human beings during aerobic respiration or enzymatic oxidation of organic food.

Thus living organism absorb it from the environment during aerobic respiration but released by plants during photosynthesis. Thereby setting up the oxygen cycle.
